Interactive Fiction

A place for fun and games, and for stories of various forms. Currently a little bare-bones, but I have hope of improvement.

All games posted here belong to EGGRAMEN and the person behind it, unless otherwise stated -- please do not rehost my stuff without my explicit permission. Inspiration is great and all, but direct copying without permission or credit is just plagiarism.

Twine

An open-source Javascript-based engine. My games generally use the Harlowe version. The official Twine website can be found here.

Caves

Play In Browser

Published July 2019. A short work about a character exploring a cave. This is not a game with happy endings.

(Warnings for body horror and general creepiness. Also, amateur writing and frankly incompetent text formatting. Proceed at your own risk.)

Inform 7

Inform 7 is an open-source engine for text parser IF games, which produces story files in several possible formats. Games published for this section will mostly likely be made available through an online interpreter such as Parchment, as well as a Z-machine or Gblorb file for offline play.

My Inform 7 games are current available on Playfic. Since Playfic is now read-only, I plan to start mirroring them here (or at least their source code.)

Combat Demo

Compiled Game (.z8) | Source Code Download

A simple combat system for Inform 7. Both the game and source code are released here under CC-BY-4.0.

The compiled game file is a slightly older version (2.0.2) backed up from Playfic, though there should be no noticable difference in functionality. It can be played using Parchment.

Other

Games and stories made using other engines or no particular engine.

The Tunnel and the Tomb

Play In Browser

A simple Choose Your Own Adventure game about an Indiana-Jones-esque treasure-seeker and a single deadly room, featuring two endings and a variety of game overs. Written as a demo for a CYOA template using fairly basic CSS and HTML -- no JavaScript needed. Published April 2022 under CC-BY-4.0.
