The North Wind and the Sun: A Conlang Rosetta Stone

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

A classic conlanging text challenge, completed for a few of my own conlangs. Currently very WIP. The Alternian translation is super outdated, and there's multiple other languages TBF or TBA.

(Check the hover text for more literal translations + notes!)

The North Wind and the Sun were disputing which was the stronger...

They agreed to consider as the stronger one the first one to make the traveller remove his cloak.

Translator's Notes

[1] Ewa Sio has two names for North, wiyen ha ne and ximi ha ne. The first is older and more traditional, and so made more sense for a traditional parable.

[2] For simplicity's sake, the Alternian translation here is written in a formal, neutral register.

[3] One must assume the traveller was a Jadeblood, or else an accurate Alternian version of this story would have have ended somewhat differently.
